Be Ready: Lead, Communicate, and Prepare!
The 2024 Emergency Management Symposium (EMS) will be held May 7-9, 2024, in Atlanta, Georgia. This multi-day training and educational event provides a collaborative environment for emergency management personnel to engage peers, receive information on available guidance, tools, and resources, and discuss current and future programs and initiatives.
Each year, the Department of Energy’s (DOE), National Nuclear Security Administration and the Emergency Management Issues Special Interest Group host the Emergency Management Symposium to share current and accurate information related to training, exercises, and planning. Attendees will gain knowledge of elements that they can implement, modify, or validate in their programs, that will contribute to improved outcomes. This year’s theme is “Be Ready: Lead, Communicate, and Prepare!” The keynote speaker is Mr. Ed Conley. Ed has led emergency management teams around the globe, tackling some of history's most significant disasters. Ed will share his observations, lessons, and insights he has gained in his 30 years as a crisis leader and responder.
